Recently, Grégoire Rossier and Anthony Marquié introduced the third edition of their masterpiece ‘Moonwatch Only’. Where the 2nd edition was subtitled ’60 Years of Omega Speedmaster’, this third edition has a ‘The Ultimate Omega Speedmaster Guide’ subtitle. The Speedmaster Bible. You are no vintage watch/Speedmaster fan if you have not heard of this fantastic publication. Fun fact: during the presentation of the first edition in 2014 in Amsterdam was my first time meeting the core of Fratello Watches (at the time), RJ, Bert, and Gerard. A lot has happened since then, but the book remained my go-to-guide whenever I needed help or reassurance regarding a Speedmaster-related question. There are two volumes, and we reviewed each of them. Also, if you are into technology, Moonwatch Only has an iBook called Moonwatch Only – Speedmaster Identification Guide.

We usually try to keep our Moonwatch enthusiast for a Tuesday, but we feel we’re allowed to do so this weekend as well. From the authors of the book Moonwatch Only, you will now also find this smaller hardcover book called ‘A Moon Watch Story’. It is not an addition to Moonwatch Only, but an alternative for those who don’t want to shill out €250 (or more, since it is officially out of print and prices rapidly increased for a copy on eBay and elsewhere). And although I wholeheartedly suggest you find a copy of Moonwatch Only when you’re serious about buying a vintage Speedmaster or collecting them, this smaller ‘A Moon Watch Story’ is a beautiful addition for your bookshelf. Especially when you collect everything there’s to collect around Speedmasters, you will want this as well.
