In 1967, OMEGA unveiled the Seamaster 300’s little sister, the Seamaster 120.
Available in a range of sizes, colors and movements, with or without date, it is almost a family in itself. The 37 mm-diameter format comprised the following References:
– ST 135.027: manual wind Caliber 601, no date,
– ST 136.027: manual wind Caliber 611, with date,
– ST 165.027: automatic Caliber 552, no date,
– ST 166.027: automatic Caliber 565, with date.
A “ladies’” model with a slimmer 31 mm diameter was also produced, equipped with an automatic or manual-
wind movement depending on the version.
All versions adopted a simple three-hand design, with a rotating bezel featuring a black insert and a silver-gray scale. Some rarer variants featured blue, green or burgundy inserts – the latter sometimes accompanied by
a matching dial. The traditional triangular marker at 12 o’clock is topped by a luminescent tritium dot.

In the 1880s, the Louis Brandt & Fils company moved to its current site in Bienne and in 1894 the caliber Omega was created, which would give its name to the company. Renowned for its precise, innovative and affordable watches, it became the largest supplier of watches to the British Army during World War II. It also became the first company to time the Olympic Games in 1932. Among its range of numerous professional watches, the Speedmaster became the first watch worn on the moon in 1969.
