Apollo 11 was the third manned mission to approach the Moon, after Apollo 8 and Apollo 10, and the fifth manned mission of the Apollo program.

The mission was launched from the Kennedy Space Center on July 16, 1969 by the giant Saturn V rocket developed for this program. It carried a crew composed of Neil Armstrong, Mission Commander, Buzz Aldrin, Lunar Module Pilot, and Michael Collins, Command and Service Module Pilot who would remain in lunar orbit. On July 21, 1969, after a few adventures, Neil Armstrong landed the Eagle lunar vehicle on the Moon, and became the first man to set foot in another world, at 2:56 GMT. After about 15 minutes, Buzz Aldrin joined him. After relaunching and achieving a lunar orbit rendezvous with the command and service module, the Apollo spacecraft returned to Earth and landed in the Pacific Ocean.

Along with them, the OMEGA Speedmaster Professional also made history as the first watch worn on the Moon and became the Moonwatch.

This new issue of the WATCHFID COLLECTIBLES series offers for the first time a comprehensive overview of all the Speedmaster Apollo 11 commemorative models released by OMEGA from 1969 to the present day.
