This watch is an incredibly rare Omega Railmaster Flightmaster ref. CK 2914-2, similar to the ones issued for the Peruvian Air Force (FAP – Fuerza Aérea del Perú) in 1959, but produced in 1958, and not for the FAP. It is characterized by its special dial with the Flightmaster name instead of Railmaster, and is much rarer than the FAP ones. In addition, it stands out by the absence of any name on the caseback, confirming its special status.
We have observed 3 similar watches, with exactly the same features. Two of them were produced in June 1958 and initially scheduled to be delivered in Argentina. They were both finally delivered in Denmark (source: Omega Archives).
The very interesting information about this specific watch is that it has been purchased by its previous Danish owner on a flew market near the famous Thule Air Force base, in Greenland (Denmark).
The watch is in very good condition and all its parts are conform.

Omega registered the name Flightmaster very early on. In fact, the Swiss Agency for Intellectual Property (BIRPI), under the number 201929, granted protection for the name on July 19, 1957 on behalf of Omega.
The registration of the legendary name at such an early stage clearly shows the brand’s devotion to aviation watches.
Whereas the first public appearance of the name Flightmaster on both dial and caseback of an Omega model dates back to 1958/1959, the 1957 registration of the model’s name offers a refreshingly new view on the collaboration between the brand and the Fuerza Aérea Peruana (FAP), for which the brand became an official supplier in 1958, with the name Flightmaster being registered before the first Peruvian order for the re-branded CK 2914 Railmaster models was placed.
Either way, it was on the wrists of the pilots of the Peruvian Air Force that the world’s first incarnation of the Flightmaster became famous. Even a quick glimpse at the watch confirms that it incorporates one of the most crucial ingredients of a pilot’s watch, or for that matter, of any watch worthy of its classification as a true instrument of the trade or toolwatch: unrivaled readability and legibility under all possible circumstances! The model’s anti-magnetic properties and the fact that it was powered by a derivative of Omega’s legendary 30mm caliber add greatly to the early Flightmaster’s status, turning it into one of the few supremely coveted models for watch collectors and lovers alike.
In 1848, Louis Brandt founded a company in La Chaux-de-Fonds which would become Omega. In the 1880s, the Louis Brandt & Fils company moved to its current site in Bienne and in 1894 the caliber Omega was created, which would give its name to the company. Renowned for its precise, innovative and affordable watches, it became the largest supplier of watches to the British Army during World War II. It also became the first company to time the Olympic Games in 1932. Among its range of numerous professional watches, the Speedmaster became the first watch worn on the moon in 1969.
The purpose of this document is to determine whether the constituent parts of the watch are conform to the model reference /period or not, and to value their condition and importance.
