The present Flightmaster, reference ST 145.026 and serial 31.637.xxx, is in unrestored condition.
All its parts are period correct, and its dial has an amazing patina with tropical subdials.
The watch is provided with a vintage period correct Omega box (which could actually be the box delivered with the watch at the moment of its purchase: the Flightmaster box was not always delivered, because it was proposed as an option by Omega Switzerland to the authorized dealers, who had to pay for that).
More important, the watch has its original warranty, with the stamp of the “A/AF Exchange” indicating that it has probably been sold by a store located in a US military base.
This could be confirmed also by its specific steel Omega / JB bracelet.

The Flightmaster, watchmaking’s equivalent of the Swiss army knife, was probably the most advanced professional watch back in 1969, when it was first commercialised. Characterised by its Pilot’s line, it is equally distinguished by its bright colours, seven hands, three crowns and two pushers. Each function is colour-coded: yellow or red for the chronograph, blue for the second timezone and black for a simplified chronograph function using the bezel.
After two years, a major change was the appearance of a running seconds hand in place of the 24-hour function, leading to modification of the subdial at 9 o’clock. The original calibre 910 was adapted, renamed 911 and the reference, originally ST 145.013, named ST 145.026. There are indications (Omega documents) that this change was hastily decided, which lead to anomalies for the early examples, such as rare dial variants installed either in the old (and thinner) ST 145.013 case or in the new ST 145.026.
In 1848, Louis Brandt founded a company in La Chaux-de-Fonds which would become Omega. In the 1880s, the Louis Brandt & Fils company moved to its current site in Bienne and in 1894 the caliber Omega was created, which would give its name to the company. Renowned for its precise, innovative and affordable watches, it became the largest supplier of watches to the British Army during World War II. It also became the first company to time the Olympic Games in 1932. Among its range of numerous professional watches, the Speedmaster became the first watch worn on the moon in 1969.
The purpose of this document is to determine whether the constituent parts of the watch are conform to the model reference /period or not, and to value their condition and importance.
