Few brands can claim as many mechanical innovations and iconic pieces of design as Breguet can. Be it their Breguet hands, Breguet numerals, the tourbillon, the Breguet overcoil, or others, the industry has benefitted tremendously from Breguet’s continuous evolution.
This model, nicknamed “Chinoise” is directly inspired by a tact pocket watch number 4579 produced in 1829.
The day and date are indicated in a window at 10 and 2 o’clock respectively. It has a solid caseback. There was an evolution of the dial: the moon got a face and “Swiss” was replaced by “Swiss Guilloché Main”. It was available in yellow gold, pink gold, white gold and platinum.
Founded in Paris in 1775 by Abraham-Louis Breguet, a genius considered by many as the greatest watchmaker of all time, with a lot of inventions such as the tourbillon, Breguet is a first-class brand, renowned for its complications and its guilloché work on the dials.
