Reference 2896 is a 36 mm Omega dress watch from the second half of the 1950s and early 1960s, fitted with the hand-wound caliber 267 or 268, like the present example.
The “-61” suffix of this example, cased in rose gold, indicates a later production of the case.
In excellent condition, it stands out for its unusual black dial, offering a striking contrast with the applied rose gold indexes and numerals.
The 2896 family fits naturally within Omega’s Trésor-adjacent dress watch production of the period, where emphasis was placed on precious metals and refined dial aesthetics rather than sport or water resistance.
