Yes, I was 18 , it was an Accurist chrono bi-colour ref 462463 in the early 90s. It had a blue sunburst effect dial. Loved that watch and still have it… somewhere!
The Speedmaster for sure – I love anything space so the connection to it being worn on the Moon I think is super cool plus its actual intended design was for timing road racing.
ROLEX GMT – I used to travel a lot and this watch was great in many ways, plus it’s also been around for decades in many guises. Should never have sold my ‘coke’ but hey ho!
HEUER Autavia – Aimed at automotive and aviation markets, the sheer amount of different variations makes it a cool watch that anyone could wear! Some of these like the the Speedy have become extremely valuable and sought after, you only have to go by past auction results.
My late father in the early to mid sixties used to sell OMEGA watches in my home town, if he had of known back then that some OMEGA’s would be worth the cost of a house, I’m sure that he would have bought some to just sit there as an investment. Hindsight is a wonderful thing huh!
A bit of both actually, once it was all the modern pieces only but now dealing & collecting both I have kind of settled in the middle and appreciate what each has to offer.
Generally, I love the entire design, layout, ease of use etc. Its iconic, there are many to choose from in terms of dials, shapes (if you count the Mk 2-5) but above all, its stood the test of time its self!
This has to be my Speedy Ed White Blue/Grey pre-professional dial. It doesn’t get worn much due to the value and how hard it is to replace, but it really is a thing of beauty.

I think we know the answer here… Sports car! I would be buying a Ferrari F40, by far the craziest road car I have ever driven, a financial advisor wouldn’t even get a call as he would advise me on buying something else!
Well, this one is close to my heart, in 2013 I lost my father to lung cancer. He was someone who made me who I am today along with my mother, installing manners, appreciation, kindness and everything else that makes me who I am. The 24 hours would be solely spent with him.
I would say not many actually, I am normally with phone in hand with work so the time is normally seen on there. If I had to put a number on it, I would say about 20 times.

Today I’m rocking my eBay find, one owner 105.012-64. I love this watch due to the bezel fading to blue and the overall patina, it looks great in the sun. It was bought in Geneva in 1965 along with a Seamaster. The eBay listing was terrible and the photos were so dark you couldn’t make anything out on them at all. I took a gamble and it paid off.
