The present Speedmaster, with serial number #37.870.xxx, is a reference ST 145.022-76, manufactured in 1978 and delivered to the USA.

It is in very good condition, and all its parts are conform, included its stainless steel bracelet reference 1171/633.

Its dial is called Tall & Open S in the MOONWATCH ONLY book, a nickname referring to the height and shape of the capital S of Speedmaster: it is very tall / long and its ends are curly, but much less than the Tall & Closed S variant, produced at the end of the 80s. Produced from 1977 to 1990, this is the correct version for this reference ST 145.022-76.

During the first years of production of the ST 145.022, the year of production was engraved inside the caseback: 68, 69, 71, 74, 76 and the last one 78, all made by the case maker Huguenin Frères SA.
