This Omega Speedmaster Apollo Soyuz 35th Anniversary Meteorite from 2010 is in perfect condition and presented full set.
In 2010, Omega made innovative use of a piece of meteorite to make the dials of this series limited to 1,975 examples.
The meteorite was sliced into thin wafers to make the dials. The dial blanks were chemically treated to show up the irregular structure of the meteorite, making each dial unique.
The dials were then painted in anthracite gray except for the subdials, which were left in their natural color and varnished.
The caseback refers to the mission with a bas-relief engraving of the two space vessels docking.
The 1,975 watches of this limited edition were delivered in large rectangular presentation boxes, with a certificate of authenticity.
In 1848, Louis Brandt founded a company in La Chaux-de-Fonds which would become Omega. In the 1880s, the Louis Brandt & Fils company moved to its current site in Bienne and in 1894 the caliber Omega was created, which would give its name to the company. Renowned for its precise, innovative and affordable watches, it became the largest supplier of watches to the British Army during World War II. It also became the first company to time the Olympic Games in 1932. Among its range of numerous professional watches, the Speedmaster became the first watch worn on the moon in 1969.
The purpose of this document is to determine whether the constituent parts of the watch are conform to the model reference /period or not, and to value their condition and importance.
