I impulsively put a Cartier gold and silver Panthere watch on my credit card when I was 21.
It took me months to pay it off but I was so elated to own one.
My sister has it now and it still keeps exceptional time.
Arguably the Dufour Grand et Petite Sonnerie, a modern icon would be the Rexhepi Flyback Chrono RRCHF and from a design perspective – definitely the 67 London Crash.
I’m looking forward to the new Legare Chapter One from Wei Koh and Guillaume Tetu.
I had the privilege of trying both versions recently and they were fabulous on the wrist.
I’m very excited about the future of the brand and happy to also support an independent watchmaker and fellow Singaporean.
I adore the notion of wondering about the provenance of a timepiece or jewelry and who might have owned it and what their stories were.
Of course some are also historically significant – case in point a piece of Cartier jewelry that took me 15 years to track down and acquire. The Free as a Bird Jeanne Toussaint brooch from the 1940s. I’ve also recently been fixated with vintage London Baignoires and stone dials from other brands like Patek Philippe and Rolex.
The usual suspects – art especially sculptures by Li Chen from Taiwan and reverspective pieces by Patrick Hughes.
I have way too much wine and grower champagnes so I’m a great party host!
I’m also a bit of an adrenaline junkie so I’ve gone tandem skydiving in Nepal, ice driving in Finland and scuba diving in Iceland. I’ve also recently picked up snowboarding so that’s been a point of focus (and pain, haha) recently.
Life’s too short to live a boring one.

Oddly enough nothing today and maybe because it’s the weekend.
I usually do a “grab and go” on weekdays for work, so whatever is within arm’s reach, usually a Patek 5164 Travel Time, the unicorn Berneron Mirage Viridian. Or this amazing vintage Rolex DayDate grey ghost dial I recently acquired from Johnson in HK ( the go-to Rolex vintage king).
Africa.
Raw, humbling and just so stunning. I love animals in their native environments and while it is gut wrenching to see nature take its course with the cycle of life and death there – seeing animals in the wild is simply incomparable. I’d never visit a zoo as the sadness you feel there is palpable. Animals should be in the wild. Singapore is such an urban environment (we get excited to see a real cow haha) so Africa and its vast terrain was a life changing moment for me. I’d go back every year if I could … it never grows old.
Tokyo.
The food, art, culture, shopping, people – definitely one of my favorite cities in the world.
And yes, the vintage watch scene is great too.
Not really a personal item per se but definitely my partner.
I call him Bear Grylls because he’s great in the outdoors. He’d chop wood, build us a hut, forage for food and be absurdly entertaining while doing so! If I can’t, then a charged mobile phone with Starlink service cause I’d get me a heli-vac out of there!
