1. Do you remember your first watch?
Yes, of course I do remember my first watch. That was small, black CASIO. It was a gift from my father. Actually, it was the only women’s watch I have ever had. Then I’ve started to secretly borrow G-Shocks and other men’s watches from my father.
2. The 3 most iconic watch models?
I value the most: the OMEGA Moonwatch, watches designed by Gerald Genta and those with the automantons by JAQUET DROZ.
3. A noteworthy anecdote with one of your watches?
When I bought my OMEGA Moonwatch I was told to choose the only hesalite version. After wearing it for a couple of hours I returned home, looked at the watch and almost fainted. The entire crystal was scratched by a zip of my leather jacket! Luckily it took only a while to refresh it at the OMEGA boutique. That was my jump from a G-shock to a luxury watch…
4. Are you more modern or vintage?
I am both. Due to the nature of my work I am quite ecclectic, however I find myself becoming more and more interested in the 70s style.
5. I love Speedmasters because …
… it is a classic, a watch with its own fascinating history, taken for a trip to the Moon which just makes you think…
6. Your favorite Speedmaster?
I am just at the very beginning of my ‘collector’s’ way. I love my TinTin watch and the Moonwatch. Getting the third of my favourite timepieces, the Snoopy, would be the perfect match for the other two of Speedmasters.
7. A single personal item you would take with you for a long stay on the Moon?
That is easy! The Moonwatch is the perfect choice for a trip to the Moon. Obviously as an artist I should take some watercolors, but there might be some issues with water supplies in space.
8. You just won the lottery. Do you first buy a sports car or call a financial advisor?
Sports cars are just beautiful, but paintings excites me more 😉 A piece of art is often far more expensive than a luxury automobile. One day I would like to add a Wojciech Fangor’s one to my collection…
9. Where would you spend the next 24 hours if you had a teleporter?
That’s a good question … My interests lie in stories about treasures set in castles so I could be teleported to the Amber Room, if it exists… or to the dungeons of Hermitage. If there is no Amber Room and Hermitage does not have any dungeons, I would find myself in Easter Islands.
10. How many times a day do you watch … your watch?
I do often take a quick glance, not to check the time but just to admire them!
11. The last watch you bought?
OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch ‘TinTin’.
12. What’s on your wrist today?
OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch.
